Are there any reviews of your products?
Yes. Click
here to see a few - it's the Harmony Central FX reviews database. If you buy a MonkeyFX pedal and like it, please do a review. If you don't, please let us know so that we can sort things out.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Shipping to the UK is included in the listed prices; shipping to most of Europe is no extra. To the US is typically another £5, and for anywhere else please click
here to contact us and the monkeys will work something out for you. You'll be liable for any customs charges, though guitar pedals often don't get charged at all. International shipping usually takes 1-2 weeks, but that depends on the destination.
Can you mark my pedal as a "gift" and put the value down low?
No. Absolutely not. We are a responsible business; our books are audited and we insure every pedal we ship. Therefore we do not commit postal fraud, and please do not ask us to falsify customs documents - customs are scary people with big sticks. We'd rather not sell a £100 pedal than get a £2000 fine!
How long will it take to build my pedal?
Probably 5 weeks, but bear in mind that these pedals are all hand-made to order, and sometimes take longer. We only post on Saturdays, and we rarely accept "urgent" orders with deadlines.
How do I pay?
In the UK a cheque is fine, or Paypal. Internationally we only take Paypal, in UK Pounds (listed as Pounds Sterling). We prefer PayPal balance transfers, because otherwise 3% goes as fees. Please click
here to contact us for address details and to confirm your order before transferring any funds.
The price seems a bit high. Can I haggle?
No. We set our prices according to the cost of components and the design and construction time needed to complete the pedal. We don't try to haggle our customers up from the price quoted on the website, so please show us the same respect and don't try to haggle down.
Do you have a dealer in the US? What about in...?
All our pedals are sold direct - that helps us keep prices down and provide a personal service. We are not currently taking on any stockists.
Why isn't the finish on my MonkeyFX pedal as perfect as on my Boss pedal?
Because it was done by monkeys, of course. Every pedal comes out a little different. Sometimes they're a bit over-enthusiastic and you get a different fade, or a run. It all adds to the character, and to be honest you're lucky there's no fur stuck in it!
My MonkeyFX pedal stopped working! Will you fix it?
If it's stopped working because we didn't make it properly, of course - we'll be very surprised and suitably apologetic, because everything is thoroughly tested before shipping. If you broke it then there'll be a charge, but fear not; it'll be kept very reasonable. Talk to Darwin for return information.
I don't like the pedal I bought. Will you take it back?
If it doesn't work we'll refund or repair it within 2 weeks of your getting it. If there's nothing wrong with it then we will sometimes take it back, but this depends on the condition. Custom orders are unlikely to be bought back, because then we're likely to be stuck with them. Stock pedals (like the MF3, for instance) can be returned within 7 days if they're in as-new condition for a refund minus shipping costs. If you no longer need a custom pedal do let us know; we do get requests in from time to time that match up with pedals we've made in the past, and we're happy to point a buyer and seller in each other's direction.
Would you give me money off in exchange for something of mine?
Maybe. Probably not - the monkeys are very, very picky about their gear, but it's worth asking - as long as you don't expect £100 off for a broken Dano overdrive. Stuff that's likely to float their boat (or peel their banana) includes Tech21 pedals, unusual modulation pedals and so on - but only if they're in perfect working order.
Can you make me a pedal that sounds like...?
No. The effect pedals are what they are. The routers and switches are built to order, and can be almost any combination of functions. However, if Eponymous thinks your idea is daft he'll say so - and we'll work with you to come up with something that'll actually do something sensible.
Do you do repairs and mods?
Not for anything other than our own pedals. For other repairs try the manufacturer or www.audio-brain.co.uk - we have no affiliation with them, but a few past customers have used them. Obviously we don't accept any responsibility for their work.
I've got a great idea for a pedal - wanna hear it?
Erm... ok. Bear in mind that we don't pay for pedal "ideas", ever - though we might consider licensing an actual complete schematic, and we do buy in complete, tested boards for some effects. If you tell us your idea, we probably won't ever make it unless it's a specific doable custom build. If we do make you one, we reserve the right to make more. Lots more. Especially if it's a good idea.
